GP45 test

NGRRC Pembrey

I was very excited at being offered a test ride on the NGRRC GP45 test bike for a race day at pembrey circuit. Having to ride a new bike with no testing I knew it would be a challenge but I had heard that it was a great bike and was confident that I could set a good pace.

When I first took the bike out in morning warm up I realised watch a challenge it would be, however its smooth power delivery and trick suspension made it a good and quick bike to learn which gave me confidence going into the qualifying race.

Coming into the qualifying race I was very nervous to do well. Having never done a race start on a four stroke race bike which unfortunately meant I got a bad start and struggled on the first lap. After getting into a good rhythm I managed to climb through the pack to score second position in the GP45 singles with the fastest lap.

Coming into the final I was confident that I could be competitve and fight for the win. After getting a much better start I was able to catch and battle for the lead of the race, however I badly caught a backmarker on the penultimate lap and although setting the fastest lap ( 2 tenths off the lap record) I lost the race by 0.04 of a second.

Although I was disapointed not to take the win it was a great oppourtunity and I really enjoyed riding it and hope to again in the future. A big thank to everyone at NG Road Racing.
