Oulton Park- Triumph Triple Challenge- round 3

I was excited coming into Oulton Park although it was a track I have had less track time there in the past it had a good reputation and I was fully into the BSB swing of things.
Unfortunately my Friday practice was cut short due to oil spills meaning I missed out on valuable track time although an extra 5 mins would be added to qualifying, however short the session was I got a good idea of how awesome Oulton Park is on the Triumph 675 with massive wheelies over the several rises and incredible corner speed into its many banked turns.
Qualifying was early on Sunday morning and I was keen to get out there early to get a good line and speed round the track however on the second lap it began to rain and I missed out on the moment to put in a fast lap and was down in 18th on the grid which was very disappointing however I knew I could make a good race aslong a I was quick off the line.
Monday started with morning warm up a 8.30 in very cold conditions and my bad luck continued as I was one of the many riders to be caught out by these conditions and suffered a crash, although the bike came off relatively undamaged which meant we had little to do before the first race.
The mixed conditions continued as race 1 began I very wet conditions however I saw this as an advantage as I didn’t have as much experience round there in the dry, I got a good start and immediately started making up positions and as others crashed I continued to make progress until I finished 10th overall and 5th in the premier which was very positive after such a disappointing qualifying.
Race 2 was indry conditions and this time I got an even better start and was again making up positions however I lost the tow to the front group early on and couldent quight make up the gap and by the end of the race I was feeling what a physical track Oulton Park is! I finished 11th overall and 6th in the premier.
Overall it was another positive learning weekened and I jumped up to 5th in the Premier championship, and with the next meeting at Snetterton a track that I have had some good experience on so it should be upwards from here.
